Getting off the Lofotens

Bedroom window: midnight sun peaks through

We woke to even more rain, and another Sunday in Norway biding our time waiting for an afternoon ferry. I got some washing done, but Bondi chose to ride out the day in his cushioned nest in the back of the car.

At the dock 90 minutes before the ferry, the car traffic built quickly while we sat, freezing. The journey across to Bodø was spent remapping the next few days of the journey, plotting alternate land and ferry routes down to Trondheim. Three hours rolling on open sea later, and we got straight out onto the road towards the E6 Arctic Highway. Ideally I would have gone as far as Mo i Rana, but I found a caravan/cabin park near Saltdal and pulled over before I ran out of energy and open places to stay. Worked out at 100€ for a supply-your-own-linen cabin that is supposedly non-smoking but smells like an ashtray.
