Grey Skye and grey mainland

Eilean Donan

It really was bad weather when we left Portree today, and I didn't waste any time getting off the island. Skye turned out to be a bit of a disappointment (the excellent Cafe Arriba and Foreland B&B notwithstanding) - maybe if we were birdwatching or bagging a few Monroes (now my nickname for picking up Bondi's movements) it would have been more appealing.

A shaft of light pierces the clouds over Loch Alsh.

All the colour that BB saw in 1959.

We're back at St Anthony's B&B in Fort William, giving me a chance to catch up with email and blog posts. Two days on Mull follow, and then two more down near Stranrear where my Kerr ancestors hailed from. Back into England, Wigan-bound on Friday. Really not sure after that: maybe Wales, maybe Cornwall, maybe ???
